Alright - so before the holidays I wanted to get myself presentable (get to the gym, new clothes, nails, all the works!). I decided to get my hair done, normally, when I walk into the salon I am so excited to get my hair cut and colored that I don;t even think about everything that goes into it. Well, for all you gentleman out there, or ladies who have never gotten your hair highlighted, I'll paint a picture. Imagine smelling chemicals (you know the peroxide smell - that tingles in your news) that are being painted onto your hair, and then being wrapped in alumnium foil to help contain the color. Then you go over to the sink where the run a ton of water to try and get all of that chemical out of your hair. When they sit you back into the chair, they put in mouses, sprays, gels, anything to make your hair look fabulous. Once I went through this whole process, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a more eco-friendly way to go about this process.
So, I am wondering if there are any green hair salons? I am curious - if anyone can suggest one, I will go check them out and let you know if it was any different!

Green Salons
Actually my friend Jen from Salon 6 was talking about doing something "green" in the salon world. Not sure how it turned out but at least they are thinking that way.
It's actually quite easy being green.
